After all, why is the weekly holiday only on Sunday?
Sunday is usually everyone's favorite day. They wait for this day the whole week. Because on this day there is a weekly holiday in every place, from government institutions to private ones. But have you ever wondered why Sunday is chosen for the weekly holiday?
In 1844, the British Governor-General introduced the provision of 'Sunday Holiday' for school-going students so that children get time to do something creative on this day and do something different from regular studies.
According to Hindu beliefs, Sunday is the first day of the week, not the last. It is the day of Sun God and Lord Vishnu. There is a provision to worship all the gods and goddesses on this day. That is why Sunday is important.
Sunday was chosen as a holiday because the British did not work on this day. On Sundays people go to church and remember Lord Jesus Christ and the words spoken by Lord Jesus. That is why Sunday is considered a day to remember Jesus Christ by taking a holiday.
