We think that the clouds floating in the sky must be light, but their actual weight is not that less. One of the interesting questions is that how much does a cloud weigh?

Sometimes white like milk and sometimes with a little gray color, the clouds floating look very lovely. On seeing them, one feels like touching and feeling them somehow. However, this is not that easy because the light and delicate looking clouds are not that light.

You may not believe it at once but the weight of a cloud is equal to at least 100 elephants. It must seem strange, but the average weight of a cloud is 1.1 million pounds i.e. about 450 thousand kilograms.

According to science, water present everywhere in the form of vapor rises above the hot air. When it starts to cool down, the water accumulated in it collects in the form of small droplets. These droplets are water. Simply put, the weight in a cloud is of water only.

Since the droplets formed in the clouds are very small, they remain comfortably supported by the hot air. They do not come down until they become heavy by combining. When they accumulate, they come down as rain, hail or snow.
